Yes. VevaMD is a real US company that connects adults with licensed clinicians for GLP-1 weight loss care online. VevaMD itself is not a medical provider or a pharmacy: licensed clinicians in the Beluga Health network make every medical decision, and a licensed US pharmacy prepares any medication they prescribe.
Asking whether an online GLP-1 company is legit is a smart question. The FDA has warned people about GLP-1 products sold by unlicensed websites. Below is who we are, who is involved in your care, and how to check any company, including us, before you share your health information.
Who runs VevaMD?
VevaMD Inc is an Idaho corporation founded in 2026 by Eric Vevang. We are a technology and marketing company. We build the online assessment, the member tools, and the support you reach by phone or email. We do not examine patients, write prescriptions, or compound medication.
If something about your experience does not feel right, call or email us.
That split is on purpose. The people who decide on your treatment should be licensed clinicians, not a company that also wants to sell you something. You can read more in is VevaMD a medical provider?
Who are the clinicians?
Your assessment is reviewed by a licensed clinician in the Beluga Health network (Beluga Health, P.A.). The clinician must be licensed in the state where you are being treated. They look at your health history, medications, height and weight, and they decide whether a GLP-1 is appropriate for you.
- They may follow up by message or video if they need more information.
- They choose the medication and the dose. You can tell them if you prefer semaglutide or tirzepatide.
- They can say no. A prescription is never guaranteed.
More on this in who can prescribe compounded GLP-1.
How does the pharmacy side work?
If your clinician writes a prescription, a licensed US pharmacy prepares compounded semaglutide or compounded tirzepatide for you as an individual patient and ships it to your home. Compounding by a state-licensed pharmacy for a specific patient with a valid prescription is legal under federal law (section 503A of the FD&C Act).
It is important to know what compounded means. The FDA does not approve compounded drugs, and it does not review them for quality or performance before they are sold. Compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide are not Ozempic, Wegovy, Mounjaro or Zepbound, and they are not generic versions of those brands. Our compounded medications disclosure explains this in plain language.
How can I verify an online GLP-1 company?
Use this checklist for any company, including VevaMD:
- A licensed clinician in your state. Someone licensed where you live should review your information before any prescription. You can ask for your clinician's name and look up their license with your state's licensing board.
- A licensed pharmacy label. Real medication arrives with a pharmacy label that names the dispensing pharmacy, your name, the prescriber, directions and a beyond-use date.
- A real phone number and email. You should be able to reach people. Ours are +1 (888) 275-1703 and info@vevamd.com.
- No prescription without review. A legitimate service asks about your health history and can turn you down. If nobody asks, walk away.
You can also look for clear, honest disclosures. A trustworthy company tells you plainly that compounded medications are not FDA-approved, names who makes the medical decisions, and does not promise specific outcomes.
What are the red flags of fake GLP-1 sellers?
- Selling semaglutide or tirzepatide with no prescription or no clinician involved.
- Products labeled "not for human use" or sold as lab chemicals.
- Powders or vials you mix yourself, with no pharmacy label.
- Claims that a compounded product is FDA-approved, generic, or the same as a brand.
- Payment only by gift card, crypto or wire transfer, and no way to reach a person.
- Guarantees about how much weight you will lose.
What does VevaMD not do?
- We do not diagnose, examine, or prescribe.
- We do not make or mix medication.
- We do not promise a prescription or a specific outcome.
- We do not bill insurance. Care is cash-pay, from $199/mo, and the assessment is free.
We are available in all 50 states and Washington, DC, fully online, at the same price everywhere. Members get a private My VevaMD page to message their clinician, see shipping updates, get dose reminders and log their weight.
